The story.
Bryan MacRobert is one of a small yet increasingly influential band of winemakers rallying for a fresher, elegant, more authentic style in Rioja that places greater emphasis on vineyards than the cellar. He’s originally from South Africa, where he was Eben Sadie's assistant winemaker before making his own wines in the Swartland. Based in humble surroundings on the outskirts of Logroño, Bryan looks after small parcels of old vines, often inaccessible to machinery and ploughed by mule. The intricate terroir inherent to the region is not being celebrated enough, and Bryan is out to change that.
