Enisio Tocco has always had a passion for wine and his Abruzzo homeland coursing through his veins, and he has passed that on to his sons, Lorenzo and Danilo, as well as his nephew Sebastiano, who now look after the family’s 20 hectares of organic vineyards and 14 hectares of olive groves in the Pescara hills.
Enisio established the farm in 1981, in the area between the medieval town of Alanno, Cugnoli and Pietranico, in the province of Pescara. Their hilly landscape is devoted to the local grapes, such as Montepulciano, Passerina and the once endangered but now thriving Pecorino.
The Capostazione range pays homage to the zealous old station master of Alanno, who worked hard for the local land and community, just as the Tocco family has been doing for over 50 years.
