Domaine Mathias is a seventh-generation family estate in Pouilly-Fuissé. Founded in 1894 by Antoine Charvet, it is now run by Gilles and Béatrice Mathias, with their son Thibault actively involved.
The 11-hectare domaine has been certified organic since 2010 and uses biodynamic practices in the vineyard. Chardonnay is the main focus, grown on clay-limestone soils and Gilles Mathias matches the techniques of their ancestors with modern research to create clean, pure wines with a nod to the fulsome regional Mâconnais style.
