Domaine Coursodon has been rooted in the historic village of Mauves since the mid-19th century, farming the steep, granitic slopes that form the original heart of Saint-Joseph. Jérôme Coursodon, the fifth generation of his family to run the domaine, has worked alongside his father, Pierre, since 1998. Dedicated to precision and elegance, he believes that “it is the sum of small details that makes the difference.”
Jérôme focuses exclusively on Saint-Joseph, crafting wines that reflect the region’s unique terroir. His 16-hectare estate is entirely planted on the appellation’s distinctive granite soils, ensuring purity and character in every cuvée. The wines are known for their depth, minerality, and ageing potential, rivalling some of the finest from Hermitage, Côte-Rôtie, and Cornas.
The Coursodon family has played a pivotal role in the region’s history - Jérôme’s grandfather, Gustave, was instrumental in helping establish the Saint-Joseph appellation in the 1950s. With a philosophy that prioritises quality over quantity, Jérôme continues to elevate the domaine’s reputation, producing powerful yet refined wines with a true sense of place.
