A potted history.
"I make wine, but I'm not a winemaker." Andrew Wightman moved to Môrelig farm (which means “morning light”) on the Paardeberg some seven years ago. The farm had for many years produced grapes for some of the Swartland's leading winemakers but spurred on by these neighbours, Andrew and recently also his son Brandon began making small volumes of wine of their own as members of the Swartland Independent Producers. In keeping with the strong sustainability ethos for his vineyards, from the outset Andrew’s wines have been made intuitively and naturally, with a profound respect for some of the finest old vines in the Swartland.
